July Month 2011

How often do you remember?

After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye as often as ye drink it in remembrance of me. (1st Corinthians11:25)

Considering the sacrifice made by our Savior, do we take the time to remember what he has done? Do we know the depth of the sacrifice that he made at Calvary. Perhaps we have good memory of what we have done in our lives but it is only once a month, when we take the Lord’s supper that we actually consider the cross. Or every now and then, a preacher will remind us that he died at Calvary. It is my humble opinion that we should without prompting, urging or coaxing always remember what the Savior did. "How often do you remember?

I know we are so busy, we have so much to do and we have so many areas of our lives that pull us and push us. We have mountains that are too high to climb, storms that toss us to and fro, but through all our God promised to be with us and never leave us. His only request is that as often as we eat and drink the bread and the wine do it in remembrance of me. It does not mean that only once a month when we take communion but rather we should communion with Him more often and when we do, we should remember the blood sacrifice of Calvary. If it had not been for the blood of Jesus where would we be?

You remember high school, football games, proms and school dances. You remember happy hours, birthday bashes and bachelor parties, You remember all of those first in your life. Do you remember the first time you met Jesus? "How often do you remember?"
